Phil Kloer

I am an experienced Health Service leader with 10 years’ experience at Board level in a large health system organisation, currently working as Executive Medical Director and Deputy CEO.
My professional interests include developing system leadership, improving healthcare service quality, promoting a move to a more social model of health & well-being, and increasing the understanding of the link between human and environmental health.

I am also a committed dad, an amateur philosopher, an avid reader, an average runner and offer an excellent taxi service to my children. Dw i’n dysgu Cymraeg (I’m learning Welsh) with the help of my wife, three children and colleagues and can now at least start a conversation with Welsh speakers!

I’m the Welsh Clinical Lead and a Trustee for the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM), and am a respiratory physician having trained in Wales, England and New Zealand. I have held a range of leadership roles including Director of Clinical Strategy and Director of Primary Care, Community & Mental Health Services. I’m also an honorary professor at Swansea University.
