Sarah Schofield

Sarah has had a portfolio medical career that stretches back to a time before portfolio careers had been ‘invented’. Her career has blended clinical work as a GP partner, and leadership roles. Her local leadership experience includes roles in GP leadership, a variety of system leadership roles and even a role as Assistant Medical Director at University Hospitals Southampton. Sarah has also contributed to national programmes in musculo-skeletal service redesign, and a major digital programme - both roles as primary care advisor.

Sarah’s last substantive role was as Clinical Chairman of West Hampshire CCG. With the merger of the 6 local CCGs in 2021, Sarah took the opportunity to pause and explore ‘what next’. This has led to a role as primary care advisor to the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM), to becoming the independent chair of Southampton Central PCN, and to establishing her interest mentoring and coaching more formally. Sarah also volunteers as a member of the Safeguarding Committee of Portsmouth RC Diocese.

Outside of work, Sarah is kept busy with four stepchildren, a husband who runs his own business, and a close family who live in different corners of England and Europe.
