Aneka Popat

Aneka is a specialist trainee in Occupational Medicine in a large London NHS Trust. She undertook a National Medical Director's Fellowship in 2021/22 after a year working as a Clinical Teaching Fellow and Honorary Lecturer at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and following completion of core medical training in West Sussex, where she was appointed as Wellbeing Lead in the trust’s COVID Workforce Committee. Aneka is currently working at the General Medical Council as a Marx Fellow, working in Education Policy exploring gaps in leadership offers and its role in supporting newly appointed Consultants. Aneka is passionate about compassionate leadership and its role in creating inclusive cultures in healthcare.

She has led a number of student workshops examining the role of diversity and inclusion in addressing health inequalities and multi-professional leadership and is looking forward to sharing her work and experiences with you today.
